Hi, thank you for visiting our website!
My name is Jason Travetti, I am the director of The Tiling Guys WA.
I have been a tiler for approximately 24 years, starting at the age of 17. Luckily, I was working for the best tiler in our city at the time, he himself had been taught by his three older brothers, who ran a very successful company. Initially, I learned how to grout, which may sound strange, as it’s the last thing in tiling that you do, but the philosophy was there is no point in starting a job if you cannot finish it correctly – the finishing is just as important as the setting out and laying.
I worked alongside Alan for over 10 years, always learning have to the attitude – to treat every job on site or in a home, like it was my own home – therefore never cutting corners. Making sure every set out, every tile laid and cut was the best it could be.
I moved areas, working for different companies still learning (as I feel you never stop learning), then 6 years ago I moved to Perth, only to learn that tilers here do a more complete job than in the UK. Here, they do all their own screeding, setting falls in showers & bathrooms, bricking of baths & hobs rendering, waterproofing and so on. So I again managed to get work, where the owner of the company (that completed all of the high quality Atrium Homes) was willing to teach me how to do all of the things that I couldn’t do, over an 18 month period. In return, I was excepting a low wage, and made him good money, while I was tiling.
I did these things so I could be the best I could be. Giving any and every customer the best outcome for their job. I feel that there are a few tradies that give trades a bad name, by not showing up, being late, over pricing or just completing poor quality work. My aim is to change this, on any of our jobs, from start to finish you will be given a time and date to expect us. If for whatever reason, we are running late you will be informed at the earliest possible time. We will always give you our honest professional opinion, but will never force our opinion on you, (unless its regulations) after all it is your job.
I have very high expectations of myself and my team, to treat every job regardless of size or price with respect, manners, and honesty. I have been to many jobs to give a quote to fix a leaking shower, only to tell the owners, that a leaking pipe in a shower can often be claimed for on their home insurance, that can save them a lot of money. I don’t tell them this because I don’t want the work, I tell them because it’s the right thing to do.
I am a true believer in doing the right thing.
